I know you are all excited and pumped up, looking forward to a relaxing spa day. But wait, are you just gonna appear there full makeup on, ready to glam your way through the day? No way.

Here at Reine Africaine, we'd be saving you a lot of trouble by guiding you through certain spa etiquette that would ensure you're fully prepared for your spa day as well as ensure you've the most relaxing time without any hitch up.

1. No makeup: Please do not wear makeup because it will get messed up when your face is in the cradle and if you're opting for a facial, your esthetician's first step will be to wipe it off with an oil cleanse.

2, Avoid heavy meals: If you do have to eat right before your appointment, eat light. You'd definitely feel uncomfortable with being poked and prodded and you do not want the blood flow to concentrate in your stomach.

3. Physical Conditions: Communicate any injuries or illness before your spa treatment, this will give the spa ample time to offer advice or tailor your treatments to those that won't affect you.

4. Communicate your needs during the session: Do you want the temperature adjusted or the massage pressure? The therapist wants you to be as comfortable as possible, so do let them know.

5. Enjoy the silence: This is not a rule parsay but you'd be missing out on an opportunity to truly relax. If you do have to talk, try to speak in a quiet, hush voice so as not to disturb other guests.

6. Do not use your mobile phone in treatment rooms.

7. Book your treatments in advance and come at least 30 minutes before your appointment. That gives you enough time to fill any questionnaire at the reception as well as mentally prepare.

8. Remove any skincare product but do not overly cleanse. You want the therapist to see your true skin. It helps you make the most of the therapeutic benefits of the treatments.

9. What to wear: You should wear something comfortable and easy to change out of and store. Depending on your treatment, you should pack a bathing suite. Although, most spas provide the essential dressing needs like a robe and sandals. You can also come along with yours.

10. Be a considerate guest and respect other spa users.

At Reine Africaine, we are your biggest wellness cheerleader, and if a spa day is what you need to relax. Then our sleeves are rolled up, ready to help you prepare. We hope this spa etiquette will help you prepare for the most relaxing spa experience you've ever had.

And if you're a spa junkie, what would you add to this spa etiquette list?
